This decision was announced at the conclusion of a meeting of transport authorities from the association’s member nations, where the Russian side was led by Deputy Minister of Transport Vladimir Poteshkin.

At the meeting, representatives of the BRICS countries prepared a joint declaration on sustainable aviation fuel, which will be presented to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly in October-November of this year.

The head of the Russian delegation, in turn, presented Russia’s experience in modernizing transport infrastructure, particularly airports.

Following the consultations, a ministerial declaration was adopted reflecting the BRICS’ consolidated position on the issues discussed, including the inadmissibility of unilateral sanctions and restrictions in the transport sector, the ministry stated.
