Speaking at a press briefing in this capital after concluding a working visit to Doha, the capital of Qatar, Al-Shaibani affirmed that the meeting discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy, economic, trade, finance, tourism, telecommunications, and information technology, and higher education sectors.
The foreign minister also announced an agreement to strengthen the participation of Qatari financial institutions in supporting the Syrian banking sector, and expressed gratitude to the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the salary subsidy granted to Syria.
The Syrian diplomat also revealed an agreement with the Qatari side to equip three Syrian hospitals and build a fourth modern one in cooperation with the Qatari Health Ministry, in addition to supporting the health sector and developing the pharmaceutical industry.
According to Al-Shaibani, an agreement was also reached to continue the Qatari gas supply through Jordan and strengthen cooperation in the oil and gas sectors.
The minister added that the two sides agreed to meet with Qatari entrepreneurs to discuss investment opportunities in Syria.
