The head of government planted a banyan tree sapling as part of the Green Wall initiative, which aims to reforest the 700 kilometers of the Aravalli Range and extend green cover in the surrounding area.
The project also seeks to improve soil fertility, water availability, and climate resilience in the region, which will benefit local communities by providing employment and income-generating opportunities.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated 200 electric buses as part of the Delhi government’s sustainable transport initiative, promoting clean urban mobility and symbolizing the nation’s collective responsibility for ecological balance.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister called on citizens to strengthen their resolve and reaffirm their commitment to protecting the planet.
