According to a publication by the Foreign Minister in X, “by withdrawing visas for foreign students in highly prestigious US universities, the #US government intends to forcibly silence voices within that country that denounce US complicity in Israel’s genocide in #Gaza”.

“The truth will never be silenced,” the portfolio holder remarked.

As part of the Donald Trump administration’s offensive against migration, the State Department recently instructed U.S. embassies and consulates around the world to stop new appointments for student visas.

According to the provision, the issuance of those visas will be paused while work is done on a guide to expand the “social network assessment and verification” of all applicants for that permit, the government agency said.

The above comes as another move by the Trump administration to hinder the purpose of thousands of international students to enroll in U.S. universities.
