The company explained in a statement that the pump impeller can swell after prolonged immersion in fuel, which could prevent the car from starting or cause the engine to shut down when running.
According to the company, the problem concerns 84,073 units of the Jazz, City, Civic, Accord, BR-V, HR-V, CR-V and Odyssey models, while 3,417 examples of the Civic and CR-V could have a problem with the high-pressure fuel pump.
Honda indicated that all affected customers will be informed through notification letters, where they will be able to know all the details of the product recall.
Users can also check if their vehicle is on the recall suggestion list through the Honda Touch app.
The replacement of the fuel pump and high-pressure pump will be free of charge and all related costs will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
