Li made the remarks during a working visit to the eastern province of Jiangsu, where he acknowledged efforts to foster an environment conducive to business start-ups and boost high-quality development in the process of deepening reforms.

During the inspection of a local machinery company, Li urged actively applying technologies such as artificial intelligence and clean energy to promote industry upgrading in the construction sector, in line with the global trend.

Efforts should focus on aligning innovation with industry needs, pushing forward major breakthroughs and original technological innovations, and accelerating both industrialization and market application, the premier said.

The head of government also stressed the need to conduct in-depth basic research, promote interdisciplinary integration and innovation, and strengthen cooperation to ensure a leading position in future scientific-technological and industrial development.
