“It would be appropriate for all of us together to look for ways to stop the fighting and find ways for the conflicting parties to reach agreements that would protect both Iran’s interests in its peaceful nuclear activity and Israel’s interests in its unconditional security as a Jewish state,” Putin said.
The Russian leader described the issue as “extremely delicate” requiring careful handling, although he noted that “in general, a solution is possible.”
At the same time he said that Russia does not impose anything, but only sets out its vision for resolving the situation, and stressed that the final decision rests with the leaders of the countries involved, mainly Iran and Israel.
The president also stressed that despite all the complexity of the internal political processes taking place in Iran, the society is consolidating around the political leadership of the country.
He also said that there are very good relations between Moscow and Tehran and the level of trust between the two countries is quite high.
