Cuba demanded an immediate halt to the Zionist genocide against the Palestinian people during The Hague Group meeting in Colombia.
In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez emphasized that the island’s participation reflects its “firm commitment to the just cause of #Palestine and the defense of its legitimate right to self-determination.”
He added, “#Cuba, as part of the group, endorsed a proposal to coordinate actions aimed at achieving tangible results—including an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the #Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces.”
The meeting was attended by Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. A prominent Italian international lawyer, Albanese has been a vocal critic of the Zionist genocide. In her latest report to the UN Human Rights Council, she exposed companies profiting from the conflict and condemned the inaction of Western governments.
Key commitments from the meeting included: Halting the supply or transfer of weapons, ammunition, fuel, and military equipment to Israel.
Blocking ships supporting Israel from docking in ports under their jurisdiction.
Reviewing public contracts to avoid complicity in the Israeli occupation and Ensuring accountability for serious crimes.
Additionally, Colombian civil society issued a statement urging governments to uphold international humanitarian law without delay.
