Journalist Kamal Gaballa affirmed that the measures adopted against Diaz-Canel and other Cuban officials represent a violation of the basic norms and conventions of coexistence among nations and a disregard for the Caribbean and Latin America.
Gaballa emphasized that while the northern power is taking these actions, it is receiving Israeli war criminal and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The publication considered the US State Department’s decision to prevent the president from entering the country under the pretext of committing serious human rights violations in Cuba to be unprecedented.
The text underscored, “Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is of Cuban origin and dreams of returning to Havana as leader of the island, announced punitive measures against Cuban officials and several properties, including hotels.”
It noted that the economic, commercial, and financial siege against the Caribbean nation prohibits, among other actions, direct financial transactions and US tourism, which, he believed, seeks to increase pressure on the Cuban government.
