Consulting firm Exante reports good results for the 2024-2025 harvest of soybeans, rice, wheat, and barley, as well as an expansion of the planted area, especially for winter crops.
During the 2024 winter, Uruguay achieved record harvests of wheat and barley.
Regarding prices, wheat faced a marked downward trend in international markets, pressured by abundant global supplies.
Soybean crops experienced a record harvest, whose national average yield was above 3,000 kilograms per hectare, on a surface area of 1.38 million hectares, consolidating high-volume production.
However, prices were at their lowest level in the last four seasons, affected by trade uncertainty in the United States and a global oversupply.
Rice yielded an average of 9,400 kilograms per hectare and 30 percent more acreage, with record production. However, prices fell 30 percent below those recorded the previous year.
