A report by the consulting firm Exante reports good results in the 2024-2025 soybean, rice, wheat and barley harvests, as well as the expansion of the sown area, especially in winter crops.
During the 2024 winter, Uruguay achieved record wheat and barley harvests.
In terms of prices, wheat faced a marked downward trend in international markets, pressured by abundant global supply.
The decline was felt in the local market. The average price fell to US$192 per ton, a significant drop compared to the US$260 per ton recorded in 2023.
The soybean crop experienced a record harvest. The national average yield was above 3,000 kilograms per hectare, on an area of 1.38 million hectares, which consolidated a high volume production.
