Selassie, during the launching of the “African Chinese Medical Volunteers African Charity Mission 2025 and International Medical Volunteers Campaign” at the Silk Road General Hospital in Addis Ababa, appreciated the commitment of the Chinese staff.

He expressed confidence that many children and other people in need of medical assistance will receive these services, while urging the volunteers to focus on transferring knowledge and skills during their stay.

Ethiopian Health Minister Mekdes Daba commented that the program with the Chinese volunteer doctors reflects a long-standing partnership, camaraderie and spirit of progress with the Asian people.
Daba stressed that medical care knows no borders and, in this sense, this initiative sends a strong message to all. Volunteerism is, above all, a movement based on compassion, he said.

He pointed out that last year’s edition served more than four million people and, this year, the aim is to reach five million.
