“We reaffirm the will of Cuba to continue strengthening relations with the Eurasian Economic Union, as a reference for cooperation,” he said on social network X.
During his speech he reiterated the willingness of the island to be confirmed as a Logistics Center for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), taking up the initiative of the Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, at the last Supreme Council held in Minsk, Belarus.
According to reports on the official website of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, he encouraged joint cooperation to promote the development of Cuba’s industrial capacity through processing, the production and subsequent distribution of value-added products from raw materials from the EAEU countries.
To this end, it was agreed at the Fourth Eurasian Economic Forum that a bilateral committee on logistics be established between the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and the Business Council of the Union.
This is the fifteenth session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in which Cuba participates after receiving observer status from the integration mechanism on December 11, 2020.
