During Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s two-day visit to New Delhi, the two nations, after noting the smooth implementation of the agreements for the neighboring territories, agreed to move forward with trade, pilgrimages, people-to-people contacts, river data exchange, connectivity, and bilateral exchanges.
The two nations decided to resume direct air connectivity between mainland China and India as soon as possible and finalize an updated air services agreement, according to a report released by the Indian Foreign Ministry on the outcomes of the meeting between Wang Yi and his counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The meeting also agreed to facilitate visas for tourists, businesses, media, and other visitors in both directions, as well as continue and expand the scale of the Indian pilgrimage to Mount Kailash/Gang Renpoche and Lake Manasarovar/Mapam Yun Tso in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region starting 2026.
The two nations also resolved to reopen border trade through the crossings of Lipulekh Pass, Shipki La, and Nathu La, as well as facilitate trade and investment flows.
They also pledged to support each other in holding the BRICS Summit in India in 2026 and in China in 2027.
