Upon her arrival at Wattay International Airport, she was received by Vice Chairman of the Vientiane Administrative Committee Phouvong Vongkhamxao and Lao government officials.
Later, she held talks with Pany Yathotou at the Presidential Office, where both stressed the steady progress of political, economic, cultural, educational and security ties.
They stressed that the visit reinforces the special friendship and solidarity between the two peoples on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
They also welcomed progress in trade and investment, with Vietnam among Laos’ major partners, in addition to cooperation in health, technology, sports and people-to-people ties.
The vice presidents agreed to promote strategic projects to strengthen regional integration and maintain mutual support in international forums.
Anh Xuan’s agenda includes the declaration of the Phou Luang mountain range as a national historic site, events marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day, and visits to social and cultural centers.
