India launches Fidel Catro’s biography in odia language

New Delhi, Aug 24 (Latin Press) A biography on the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1916-2016), was presented in Cuttack, Indian state of Odisha, with the participation of ambassador Juan Marsan.

The book in Odia, a classical Indo-Aryan language spoken in that territory, was written by Bijay Kumar Padhihari, president of the Indian Society for Cultural Cooperation and Friendship (Iscuf).

In the activity, the first of the 100ConFidel campaign as part of the celebration of the centenary of the birth of the historic Cuban leader that will culminate on August 13, 2026, paid tribute to Fidel Castro and reaffirmed solidarity with the Caribbean nation, according to the Cuban mission here.

This day began in the South Asian nation on August 13, on Fidel’s 99th birthday, with an event in Delhi organized by the Committee of Solidarity with Cuba of India, in which Ambassador Juan Marsan gave a large symbolic cheque for the money raised to buy medicines in support of the Caribbean nation.

As part of the event, various activities were held over several days including the Fidel Castro Centennial Football Cup in Delhi with 32 teams participating.

Also a solidarity activity with Cuba in the state of Tamil Nadu, where a donation was announced to support the health system of the Caribbean island and three books were launched in Tamil language about the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
