The last week of September is the protagonist of this vacation period and travel agencies report high demand for destinations in the northern neighbor.
The president of the Uruguayan Association of Travel Agencies (Audavi), Carlos Pera, said that “practically everything is sold out” for the upcoming spring break.
He told Informativo Uruguay that travel agencies had to contract direct flights from Montevideo to Brazilian cities.
“The possibility of contracting charter flights allows us to increase the offer which is then taken up by scheduled flights,” he added.
At the same time, the airline Gol announced direct flights between Montevideo and the Brazilian city of Fortaleza as of November 29.
The Ministry of Tourism is also working to recover direct flights to Belo Horizonte to boost inbound tourism.
