In a message posted on the social media platform X, Rodriguez stated: “I received the ambassador of #Venezuela in #Cuba, Orlando Maneiro Gaspar. I expressed our solidarity and support in the face of the military threats and disinformation campaigns promoted by the US government with the aim of undermining the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, led by President Nicolas Maduro.”
The Cuban Foreign Minister had also previously warned on the same platform about the risks posed to regional stability by the deployment of US warships in the Caribbean Sea.
“The #US dispatch of more military vessels to the Caribbean creates a grave danger to regional peace and seeks to reimpose its domination in Our America under the ridiculous pretext of combating drug trafficking.
This action responds to the agenda of corrupt politicians, like the Secretary of State,” Rodriguez wrote, rejecting what he describes as an interventionist policy disguised as cooperation.
Cuba has maintained a consistent stance of defending Venezuelan sovereignty and denounces any attempt at external pressure or aggression against the legitimate government of Nicolas Maduro.
Both countries continue to strengthen their strategic alliance amid a context of growing geopolitical tension in the region.
