In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this action constitutes a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law, in addition to representing a direct attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The statement denounced this attack as part of Israel’s systematic policy aimed at destabilizing the region and undermining the collective security of its peoples.

Syria reiterated its unwavering commitment to the legitimate right to defend its land and its people, in full compliance with the norms and provisions of international law, the Ministry concluded.

On the eve, six members of the Ministry of Defense were killed by a drone attack on Syrian army positions.
