The Italian academic Pino Arlachi, who served as deputy director of the United Nations and executive director of the Office of the multinational entity against Drugs and Crime, states in the text that he was able to verify, during his tenure, that Venezuelan cooperation against drug trafficking was one of the most effective in South America, only comparable to that of Cuba.
“Neither Venezuela nor Cuba have ever had extensions of land cultivated with cocaine,” the article states.
Arlachi calls “Trump’s delusional narrative of Venezuela as a narco-state” a “geopolitically motivated slander” that seeks to mask Washington’s real interests, energy resources, in the region.
It also debunks the US narrative about the alleged Cartel of the Suns, which is described as “a Hollywood fiction” unsupported by United Nations reports or documents from European or international agencies.
