Slovakia receives Russian oil again

Bratislava, Aug 28 (Prensa Latina) Slovakia confirmed the restoration of the supply of Russian crude oil through the Druzhba pipeline, after an interruption due to an attack, informed the Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova.

The official posted on a social network that the flow recovered and expects it to remain stable, without further aggressions to the energy infrastructure.

For its part, the Hungarian company MOL, operator of the pipeline, verified the resumption of shipments, according to local media.

Analysts believe that the incident is evidence of the vulnerability of energy supply routes in Central Europe, and that dependence on Russian fuel persists despite Western sanctions imposed on Moscow.

An attack, attributed by Slovak authorities to Ukrainian elements, disrupted pumping for seven days.

Critics say these events increase volatility in global energy markets, while the stability of the product’s supply is crucial for several landlocked European Union nations.

The Druzhba pipeline is a key artery for supplying refineries in central Europe.
