On social media, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez emphasized his support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, following the “unjust” revocation by the United States of the visas of Palestinian diplomats designated to attend the UN General Assembly at the end of September.
Sanchez highlighted on his social media account that he spoke with Abbas, to whom he reaffirmed “Spain’s firm support following the unjust revocation of visas for Palestinian delegates.”
“Palestine has the right to make its voice heard at the United Nations and in all international forums,” he emphasized.
He also stated that “the attacks on civilians in Gaza are inhumane and must cease immediately. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to pass through to alleviate the suffering of the population.”
Like his Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares, the Iberian Prime Minister insisted on implementing “the two-state solution (of Israel and Palestine)” as the only path to peace.
