The current occupants of the Casa Rosada will not want to know the results of what they deliberate this Tuesday in the lower house where legislators seek that the secretary general of the presidency and sister of the president, Karina Milei, be questioned in the Chamber of Deputies.
It will not be an easy Tuesday for the head of state.
The opposition is trying to move forward with a series of projects including quoting Karina, so that she can provide explanations in the lower house for the alleged payment of fines for hiring laboratories for medicines for the National Agency for Disability (ANDIS), a scandal that erupted following the revelations made by the former director of this body, a friend and former lawyer of the president, Diego Spagnuolo.
At the same time, it meets for the first time, after last Thursday its operation was unlocked, the investigative commission that seeks to clarify the political responsibility of the president by promoting the false cryptocurrency $Pound that led to a mega scam.
Milei tries to distance himself from the scandal that involves his sister and her right hand, Eduardo Menem.
The Health Commission will discuss two drafts which stipulate that Karina Milei be accountable to the Chamber of Deputies for the ANDIS scandal.
This initiative is driven by deputies of the Left and Workers’ Front and the Union for the Fatherland, who also want to bring to Congress the Health Minister, Mario Lugones, to explain about this difficult issue for the executive.
The Commission on Disability will also meet to discuss other projects related to the bribe Collection Scandal that include requests for Karina Milei to come to the Legislative Palace to provide explanations.
