According to the TSE, they will approve the design of the new ballot, which will be much smaller than the one used in the first round, however, will maintain security measures.
It was also said that September 4 is the deadline for the two competing political organizations to notify their refusal to participate in the runoff.
According to electoral regulations, the runoff will be held with the same electoral roll, which totals 7,936,515 eligible citizens.
The two candidates competing in the runoff are Rodrigo Paz-Edman Lara (PDC), who received 32.06 percent of the votes, and Jorge Tuto Quiroga-Juan Pablo Velasco (Alianza Libre), who received 26.70 out of 100 valid ballots.
TSE member Gustavo Avila reported that, as this is the first time in Bolivian history that a presidential runoff has been held, two major changes will be implemented in the electoral materials.
He explained that the first is the new ballot, which will have a single strip with two options: one for each presidential ticket.
A second change affects the tally sheets, which will now contain only the information of the competing candidates.
In addition, the number of copies of tally sheets will be reduced from 12 to five, distributed among the two political organizations and the three corresponding authorities.
