In his message on the 80th anniversary of the proclamation of independence and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the leader of the Cuban Revolution expressed his warmest congratulations to the Party leader and his heroic people.
Raul Castro wrote, “The example of undefeated Vietnam will remain forever in the glorious pages of history, under the sure guidance of beloved President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party, and will serve as an example for all anti-imperialist fighters around the world.”
The Army General also reiterated “the firm will to continue strengthening the close and exemplary relations of brotherhood, cooperation, and solidarity that unite our two countries.”
In his message to To Lam, Diaz-Canel emphasized that Vietnam’s admirable achievements in the last century of its millennia-long history are inspired by the example of the leadership, ethical, and intellectual stature of unforgettable President Ho Chi Minh.
The Cuban president added that Vietnam’s victories against colonialism and imperialism, its resilience and spirit of overcoming challenges, have become a shining example for the people in the struggle for their freedom and independence.
The Cuban head of State also sent a message of congratulations to Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, in which he expressed that “every victory of your country has been a genuine source of inspiration and joy for Cuba.”
In his letter to Cuong, Diaz-Canel also reaffirmed “the firm will to continue consolidating the exemplary relations of brotherhood between our peoples, parties, and governments, forged by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and President Ho Chi Minh.”
