Kicillof is participating in rallies in Merlo and Lomas de Zamora, two municipalities with a considerable number of voters, and visiting Mar del Plata to conclude with an open discussion with residents at the Malvinas Argentinas square in La Plata city.
Buenos Aires residents will elect on Sunday provincial and municipal offices in the eight electoral districts into which the province, the most politically and economically significant in the country, is divided, using the traditional party ballot format.
Some 23 new senators, 46 representatives, as well as councilors and school counselors, will be elected in each municipality. Voting is mandatory for all citizens aged 18-70 years in the state of Buenos Aires.
The polls will open on Sunday for more than 13.5 million voters, amid a context of political and economic tension.
The results are seen as a referendum on the policies of President Javier Milei’s administration, and will set a precedent for the October 26 national legislative elections for the National Congress.
