Health authorities have set up health teams to work in communities, house-to-house, and in areas of wide competition such as markets, churches and public transport terminals, to reach the largest number of children under five.
Special teams were also sent to remote or insecure areas to ensure that the campaign reaches all parts of the country.
The first round of vaccination took place from August 15 to 17, but before that, in July, immunization was carried out only in the province of Benguela, that along with Huambo, Cubango and Cuanza Norte was among those who reported the 19 cases of the disease confirmed by the Health Ministry (Minsa).
The campaign, led by Minsa with support from the World Health Organization (WHO), seeks to halt the circulation of poliovirus type 2 and protect children by applying two-dose nOPV2 vaccine.
