Sara Palmezano, Youth Coordinator of the Committee of Friends of Cuba in Cali, told Prensa Latina that the meeting paves the way for future solidarity actions with the Caribbean island and serves as a space to reject all forms of imperialist interference.
Norberto Galiotti, general coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network of Solidarity with Cuba and the Just Causes, and Jhonny Garcia, national coordinator of the Venezuela-Cuba Friendship and Solidarity Movement, are expected to attend the meeting.
On Saturday, participants will attend a lecture on the thought of Cuban national hero Jose Marti and the relevance of his legacy. The forum, titled “Updating the Tightening of the US Blockade against Cuba and Continental Solidarity in Response,” will feature panelists Galiotti and Garcia.
A plenary session will be held on Sunday, where the conclusions will be discussed. The delegates will approve the work plan for the coming months, and a political declaration will be released.
The 34th National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba was preceded by the panel Continental Solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela.
This year’s event is being held under the slogan “Enough of US Blockade against Cuba!”
