Each kit contains hygiene items, clothing and information materials on sexual and reproductive health, as well as resources for cases of gender-based violence.
The supplies respond to the specific needs of women and female teenagers exposed to risks of exploitation, assault and lack of basic services.
According to Sandra Bernklau, UNFPA representative in Cambodia, these supplies are intended to provide relief in times of hardship, including menstrual management products.
Of the total, 680 kits were given out with the support of the Cambodian Red Cross Society in far back communities, while another 220 were distributed in Preah Vihear province for women survivors of violence.
In recent years, natural disasters and socio-economic instability have increased the vulnerability of the female population in the country, the international organization said.
