Manuel Moreno Fraginals’ book at Saturday literary event in Cuba

Havana, Sep 6 (Prensa Latina) The book "El Ingenio. Complejo Economico Social Cubano Del Azucar" (The Sugar Mill. Cuban Sugar Social Economic Complex), by renowned historian Manuel Moreno Fraginals (1929-2001), will be launched at the traditional Sabado del Libro (Saturday Book) literary event in Havana.

Published by Nuevo Milenio publishing house as part of the Biblioteca del Pueblo collection, the text is considered one of the most outstanding works of Cuban historiography and the most exhaustive study of the slave sugar economy in the Caribbean nation.

Through this research, the author provides a perspective on the subject, from the economic sphere to exploring its social, political, and cultural impact.

The book comes in three volumes.

Organized by the Cuban Book Institute (ICL), the event, which gathers readers every Saturday on Calle de Madera, next to the Plaza de Armas (Arms Square) in Old Havana, will take place at 11:00 hours (local time).
