Aboul Gheit stated in a statement that the vote reflects a growing international consensus on the issue.
He believed that the countries that did not vote in favor of the resolution are on the wrong side of history.
The Arab Parliament also welcomed the outcome of the vote on the initiative, which was approved by 142 countries, rejected by another 10, and with 10 abstentions.
The regional legislature considered the bill an important step that reflects the firm international position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Its approval embodies the collective will of the international community to support the vision of a two-state solution as the only strategic option for achieving a just and comprehensive peace and ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, he stated.
