We will talk about the North American trade agreement (T-MEC), but “also direct trade between Canada and Mexico and some economic investment issues and other issues. For example, there are special work visas for Mexicans going to Canada,” the dignitary said yesterday.
According to what was disclosed, the President will arrive in the country together with part of his cabinet and will meet with the Chief Executive at the National Palace on the same day of his arrival, after which both will hold a press conference.
The agenda also includes a meeting with businessmen from both countries.
When meeting with Carney in the context of the G7 Leaders’ Summit, held in Canada, Sheinbaum stated last June that Mexico highly values the relationship with the North American country in terms of trade, culture and friendship ties.
Sheinbaum presented the Prime Minister with a soccer ball made by indigenous people from the Wixarika community as a symbol of the friendship between the two nations and in the context of the upcoming 2026 World Cup, to be hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States.
