Imposition of the imperialist doctrine of “peace through force” threatens the future of humanity with terror, arm race and global destabilization, wrote the Cuban foreign minister on his account in the social network X.
Rodriguez is in New York at the head of the Cuban delegation that will participate from tomorrow in the High-Level Segment of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
The incumbent plans to participate in high-level meetings and other multilateral events, exchanges with counterparts from various countries, and a bilateral program in the United States that, among other activities, included the Meeting with Cuban Residents here.
The island’s delegation is also made up of the deputy ministers for foreign affairs, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio and Anayansi Rodriguez; the permanent representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberón; the ambassador of Cuba to the United States, Lianys Torres, among other managers and officials of the Foreign Ministry and the Permanent Mission of the Island to the UN.
The new session began last September 9 under the slogan “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights” and is taking place at a crucial time to renew global commitment to multilateralism, solidarity and shared action on behalf of people and the planet.
This year’s high-level week highlights the urgency of complying with the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals and revitalizing global cooperation.
