Erdogan said that during the meeting they will address issues to strengthen bilateral collaboration, particularly trade, investment, and the military industry.
He maintained that regional issues will be the focus of their attention.
Erdogan emphasized the importance of close consultations and coordination between both countries, members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
According to the Turkish president, both leaders bear an enormous responsibility to maintain peace in the Middle East, strengthen stability, and stem conflicts.
Analysts predict that the meeting will seek to align positions regarding tensions in Syria and the eastern Mediterranean, although they anticipate disagreements over Türkiye’s air defense program.
