Attendees will analyze issues such as the outlook for the next decade, decarbonization, routes towards clean and resilient systems and gender equity in the sector.
According to the Undersecretary of International Economic Relations, Claudia Sanhueza, this is an event of great relevance since Olade is the main multilateral organization for collaboration in this area.
At a press conference, Olade’s executive secretary, Andres Rebolledo, stated that one of the main missions of the entity, created 52 years ago, is to advance towards integration.
“Our region has one main attribute that distinguishes it in the world and that is its wealth in terms of resources. It is the greenest region in terms of electricity generation,” he said.
He pointed out that this year in some months Latin America came to produce 70 percent of its electricity based on renewable sources, particularly hydro, but also solar and wind.
For his part, the Minister of Industry, Diego Pardow, pointed out that Chile has been a leader for a couple of decades in terms of energy transition and decarbonization.
