Escalating Israeli violence against Gaza activist decries

Ramallah, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) Salah Abdel-Ati, Chairman of the International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR), condemned the growing escalation of Israeli violence in the occupied territories, especially in Gaza, which has been under fire for two years.

Abdel-Ati stated that more than 65,300 Palestinians have died since then in the coastal enclave, and 167,000 others, including women, the elderly, and children, have been injured.

The activist underscored that the continued aggression has plunged the territory into total famine and generated an unprecedented health and humanitarian collapse.

The ICSPR chief stressed that children die daily there from malnutrition and thirst, while Israel intensifies the blockade, which prevents the entry of food, medicine, and fuel.

He criticized the ground offensive against the northern city of Gaza, where, he said, prohibited weapons were used against buildings, the healthcare system, education centers, and other essential services.

Abdel-Ati warned that Al-Ayoun Hospital, Al-Rantisi Hospital, and the medicinal air plant at Al-Quds Medical Center are out of service after being attacked by the military forces.
