In its latest daily report, it says that this situation has been repeated on several occasions, this time with hydro, wind and biomass as the main sources of generation.
So far this month, the percentages of electricity generation are 54.6 percent for hydro, 29.6 percent for wind, 9.2 percent for biomass, 4.7 percent for solar and zero percent for thermal energy.
In terms of exports, 99.3 percent went to Argentina. Imports from Argentina and Brazil accounted for only 0.7%.
Uruguay was highlighted in the middle of the year as the country with the highest growth in wind energy in the last 10 years.
This was confirmed in a report by the consulting firm SEG Ingenieria, based on data and format of the “Global Electricity Review 2024” of the Ember platform, which specializes in energy transition.
The report highlighted that this type of renewable energy increased by 15 percent in the country between 2015 and 2023, in line with the objectives set in terms of sustainability and the second energy transition.
