The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that after a long period of struggle against colonialism, imperialism, invasions, aggression, and domestic strife, “the Chinese Communist Party made come true the dream of independence, freedom, peace, equality, inclusion, and social justice.”
From the land of free men and women, forged by the sword of liberators, the great Simon Bolivar and the Eternal Commander Hugo Chavez Frias, “we proudly salute the important achievements made in these years of effort and prowess,” the statement reads.
On this occasion, Venezuela also expressed its congratulations to President Xi Jinping, “wishing him, his government, and the brave Chinese people continued success toward their highest goals.”
On his Telegram account, President Nicolas Maduro commemorated the 76th anniversary of Mao Zedong’s cry for freedom, announcing to the world the birth of a new China, forged in the alliance of peasants and workers.
Maduro emphasized that, with perseverance, China “has turned history around to fulfill the dream of the ‘Great Helmsman’: to be a powerful and sovereign nation,” and that it has emerged as a power that is neither imperialist nor colonialist, but rather seeks cooperation and development, echoing Chavez’s words.
He noted that today we are building a new humanity that yearns for a future of peace, freedom, development, and independence, a true community of shared destiny, and “I am happy to have such powerful brothers in the world.”
