Argentine Navy sources told La Nacion newspaper that the date and location of the exercises could change.

Milei approved the entry of US troops at a time when Washington has increased its interest in establishing two military bases in Ushuaia, on the edge of Antarctica: one, the Integrated Naval Base, and the other one, a logistics surveillance and observation center, at the southernmost tip of Argentine territory.

The newspaper stated that the decree also authorizes the departure of Argentine military personnel abroad to participate in the Solidarity military exercise with Chile, which will take place in Puerto Varas from October 6 to 10.
