Data as of September indicate that 33% of those surveyed disapprove of him, 17% have a neutral opinion, and the rest chose not to comment on the president’s performance.
The majority approval rating is among the Frente Amplio electorate, where Orsi garners 68%, although 11% of Frente Amplio supporters disapprove, according to Cifra.
Among voters of the National Party, the largest opposition party, 19% approve of him and 57% disagree.
Among Colorados, the ratio is 34% in favor and 48% negative.
Since March, when he assumed the presidency, Yamandú Orsi’s approval rating has increased, as has his disapproval. In that first month of government, 37% approved of him and 15% disapproved.
At that time, 48% preferred to wait to form an opinion, a figure that has now been cut in half, the pollster says.
“Orsi has managed to maintain and even slightly increase the initial support for his administration, although negative opinions have grown more,” the Cifra report concludes.
