The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) noted on its X profile that “families are forced to leave their homes, often at great personal cost.”
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees underscored that access to food, water, and security is limited.
Given this situation, UNRWA called for an urgent ceasefire and the reopening of safe humanitarian corridors to assist the territory, home to more than two million inhabitants.
Shortly before, the institution criticized, on the same social media platform, statements by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who affirmed that Palestinians who did not flee south from Gaza City would be considered terrorists.
The Army informed that some 800,000 people fled to the southern regions following the large-scale offensive against the city.
