During the presentation the day before, the feature film’s director, Christophe Barratier, acknowledged that it was passion that motivated him to be part of the event’s organizing team over the years.
“The passion I feel for the Cuban public turned into love, and it is a lasting love,” he expressed.
In its 26th edition, the festival offers 18 feature films, three animated films, and three films honoring actor Jean Gabin; the 12 selected premieres garnered 40 nominations and 12 César Awards.
The director of the Cuban Film Library, Luciano Castillo, highlighted Cubans’ interest in the European nation’s cinema.
Every year, the public awaits with growing anxiety and anticipation this exposure to a cinematography greatly admired above all for its diversity, Castillo noted.
