The moves relate to Trump’s efforts to end the war that has been ongoing for more than three years between Russia and Ukraine, which the president had promised to end as soon as he returned to the executive mansion on January 20.
The U.S. president posted on social media the day before that there will be another meeting with Putin, this time in Budapest, although he did not specify when. He said the plans stemmed from a “very productive call” between the two.
“President Putin and I will meet at an agreed-upon location, Budapest, Hungary, to see if we can end this ‘inglorious’ war between Russia and Ukraine,” he wrote.
He also announced that he will receive Zelensky this Friday. “We will discuss my conversation with President Putin and much more,” he added.
The Oval Office official also noted that a delegation of senior US advisors will meet with Russian officials next week at a location yet to be determined.
“At the end of the call, we agreed that there will be a meeting of our senior advisors next week. The initial US meetings will be led by a delegation to be designated shortly,” he added.

Las reuniones iniciales de Estados Unidos estarán encabezadas por una delegación que será designada próximamente”, acotó.
