Venezuela’s support against the blockade of Cuba

Caracas, Oct. 28 (Prensa Latina) The Libertador Municipal Council of Caracas will approve an agreement that firmly and resoundingly supports the Cuban Revolution and people, in the context of the United Nations (UN) vote.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the coordinator of the Venezuela-Cuba Mutual Friendship and Solidarity Movement, Yhonny Garcia, emphasized that this event is part of the debate that will take place at the United Nations regarding the resolution against the blockade that Cuba will present this Tuesday.

He announced that tomorrow, at Andres Eloy Blanco Hall of Caracas City Hall, they will attend the vote on the report “Need to End the Economic, Commercial, and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America Against Cuba,” accompanied by Cuban authorities and diplomats.

Garcia pointed out that the content of the Municipal Council’s Chamber Agreement will be revealed to the press on the occasion, and the Cuban ambassador, Jorge Luis Mayo, will offer statements.

“A similar pronouncement in favor of Cuba is expected from the National Assembly (Parliament),” he stated, adding that it will be replicated throughout the country through the Municipal Councils and State Legislative Councils.

He emphasized that the document reiterates the denunciation of the campaign of political pressure, fear, and intimidation by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio against countries that have historically voted in favor of the resolution on the continent and elsewhere in the world.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced the content of the document distributed by the U.S. government in several capitals on October 22.
