The meeting, which will run until November 21 and is considered one of the greatest logistical and environmental challenges undertaken by Brazil in recent years, will take place in a 250,000-square-meter facility specially built in City Park, in the heart of the capital of the northern state of Para.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) will have two main areas: the Blue Zone, designated for diplomatic negotiations and official plenary sessions, and the Green Zone, an open space for the participation of civil society, non-governmental organizations, traditional communities, and social movements.
In addition, the People’s Summit is planned, a parallel event that will bring together between 20,000 and 30,000 representatives from more than 400 social movements, who will discuss climate justice, energy transition, territorial rights, and community inclusion in the global climate agenda.
The Organization of Ibero-American States collaborated as a strategic partner of the Brazilian government in the logistics, infrastructure, and programming of the event, which will leave a lasting legacy for Belém and the Amazon region.
