Vice Presidents of Cuba and Colombia discuss issues of mutual interes

Santa Marta, Colombia, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes met with his Colombian counterpart, Francia Marquez, to discuss bilateral cooperation in several sectors of mutual interest.

Sources from the Cuban Foreign Ministry stated that the close ties between the two countries were highlighted during the cordial exchange, and they discussed arrangements for a Summit between the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the African Union (AU).

Valdes thanked Marquez for the solidarity shown by her government to Cuba following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba.

Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez and Cuban Ambassador to Colombia, Javier Caamaño, also attended the meeting.

The Cuban vice president, who traveled to this city to attend the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of CELAC and the European Union (EU), also held talks with President Gustavo Petro, and both sides reaffirmed their mutual support and solidarity.
