To Lam underscored that the success of the upcoming elections will constitute a fundamental starting point for consolidating and improving the state apparatus for the new term, creating a solid political and social foundation for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the CPV.
The top party leader delivered a speech at a national conference on preparations for the elections of lawmakers to the 16th National Assembly and members of People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, to be held on March 15 next year.
The CPV secretary general emphasized that this will also be an opportunity to reaffirm the Party’s leadership capacity, the effectiveness of State management, and the operational efficiency of the political system, as well as to ratify the strength of national unity to promote sustained development in the new era.
These elections will be the key political task of 2026, he stressed, before noting that the task of the CPV, the people, and the army at this time is to make good preparations and ensure that they are conducted democratically, according to the law, safely and economically, and they truly become a great celebration for all the people.
To Lam poined out that, referring to the presentation of candidates, it must be done openly and transparently, taking into account the opinion of the grassroots, and guaranteeing harmonious representation among sectors, classes, genders, ages, and regions so that the National Assembly and the People’s Councils are a true reflection of the great national unity.
