In a statement, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) stressed the need to implement the initiative on the ground. The resolution reaffirms the establishment of a permanent and complete ceasefire in Gaza and advocates for the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid.
The PNA called for the protection of the inhabitants of the coastal enclave, the withdrawal of Israeli troops, the reconstruction of the territory, and warned against Israeli attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians.
It also reaffirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
We reiterate our full readiness to cooperate with the members of the Security Council, the Arab and Islamic countries, the European Union, and the United Nations to implement this resolution in a way that puts an end to the suffering of our people in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, he emphasized.
He also advocated for progress “toward a political path leading to the achievement of peace, security, and stability between Palestinians and Israelis, in accordance with the two-state solution.”
