Safa informed that hundreds of people living in that neighborhood in the city of Silwan “await an unknown fate, fearing that the Israeli occupation authorities will implement decisions to evict them from their homes.”
The news agency reported that Israeli settlers already control a large land area and properties.
It warned that the settlers’ association intends to gain total control of the neighborhood and displace its residents forcibly, claiming that the area has belonged to Yemenite Jews since 1881.
More than 750,000 Israeli settlers currently live in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, distributed among some 180 settlements and more than 250 outposts, official figures stated.
The international community rejects this expansionist policy and considers this territory part of the future Palestinian State.
