China and France strengthen strategic ties at presidential meeting

Beijing, Dec 4 (Prensa Latina) The presidents of China and France, Xi Jinping and Emmanuel Macron, respectively, reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism, strategic cooperation, and global governance reform.

At the Great Hall of the People, during the French president’s state visit, the leaders witnessed the signing of agreements in areas such as nuclear energy, agriculture, education, and the environment.

Xi Jinping noted that China and France are “independent, visionary, and responsible powers” that must work together to promote a multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.

The Chinese leader stressed that both nations must maintain equal dialogue and mutual openness, especially on issues of core interest and strategic concerns, to consolidate the political foundations of their relationship.

He pointed out that the recent approval by the Chinese Communist Party of the draft of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) opens new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in sectors such as green energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and renewable energy.

Xi expressed China’s willingness to import more high-quality French products and to welcome more French companies, while urging Paris to guarantee a fair and predictable environment for Chinese businesses.
